Clayton Jernigan

Clayton is a member of the Investment Committee and the Chief Compliance Officer and has been with Cimarron since 2012. He earned his B.A. from Williams College (Honors) and his J.D. from Duke University (High Honors, Order of the Coif), where he received the faculty award in property law and was an Articles Editor for the Duke Environmental Law and Policy Forum. He also received an M.A. From Duke's Nicholas School of the Environment and Earth Sciences. Before joining Cimarron, Clayton served as an Attorney Advisor for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's Office of General Counsel. During his time at NOAA, Clayton received a Bronze Medal Award, the highest honorary award granted by the NOAA Administrator. Prior to NOAA, Clayton worked as a litigator, representing clients in complex civil litigation related to energy development in the Alaskan Arctic. Following law school, Clayton completed a clerkship with Justice William Leaphart of the Supreme Court of Montana. In his spare time, Clayton enjoys sharing his love of the outdoors with his wife and two daughters.

William Swee

William is a member of the Investment Committee and has been with Cimarron since 2009. He earned his B.A. in economics (Honors) and philosophy from Northwestern University where he received the Robert Eisner Award for Economic Research. He received his M.B.A. (High Honors) as an Amy and Richard F. Wallman Scholar from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He is a CFA charterholder and member of the CFA Institute and CFA Society of Chicago. He holds an M.A. in liberal arts from the University of Chicago where his research uncovered and built the case against a recent human rights abuse committed at the United Nations by a sovereign power. He serves as a member of the Associate Board of the Lurie Cancer Center at Northwestern University and has served as a board member of the Northwestern University Leadership Circle and as a guest judge for the Fox Family Entrepreneurship and Innovation Program at the Carl R. Woese Institute for Genomic Biology at the University of Illinois. William is an avid endurance athlete, having completed various triathlons, ultramarathons, and mountain running races.

Mark Jernigan

Mark founded Cimarron in 2002 and is the Chairman of the Investment Committee. He was previously a principal in Jernigan-Kinsella & Co., a member firm of the Chicago Board of Trade and the Chicago Board of Trade Clearing Corporation. Prior to the launch of the U.S. Government Bond futures contract, he designed a proprietary arbitrage model to capitalize on trading opportunities when futures prices and cash bonds deviated from fair value. That business was acquired by Cantor, Fitzgerald, where Mark continued for several years as Senior Vice President and Managing Director. In each capacity, over a period of approximately 17 years, he was responsible for assisting many primary government dealer firms and other large financial service firms in carrying out their trading strategies in the financial futures marketplace. Prior to that, he was employed by Halsey, Stuart & Co., and Lehman Brothers, Inc. as an institutional salesman.

Ron Schutz

Ron is a member of the Investment Committee and has been with Cimarron since 2007. He was a Senior Vice President at ABN AMRO and an institutional fixed income salesman. In this capacity, he dealt with many fixed income and derivatives products including both public and private debt placements and was co-head of the Private Placement Distribution team. Prior to ABN AMRO, Ron was a Principal at The Chicago Corporation in the Fixed Income Department until the sale of the firm to ABN AMRO. He was also a Principal and Board Member at Vincent, Chesley and Co., which was sold to Prescott, Ball and Turben where Ron worked before joining TCC. Prior to that, Ron was employed at Halsey, Stuart & Co. In his spare time, Ron enjoys time with family, golf, and several charitable activities.
